Traffic in Hillsborough will be interrupted briefly on Saturday for the Carolina Tarwheels BikeFest.
The 7 a.m.-4 p.m. event includes a ride through rural Orange and adjacent counties, beginning and ending in Hillsborough.
The starting line will be on East Margaret Lane at South Cameron Street, with cyclists heading west. Police will briefly close the intersection of Margaret Lane and South Churton Street, beginning at 7:30 a.m., for riders to pass. Cyclists will then continue along the following route:
- Margaret Lane to South Occoneechee Street
- South Occoneechee Street to Calvin Street
- Calvin Street to South Nash Street
- South Nash Street to Eno Street
- Eno Street to Dimmocks Mill Road
Cyclists will then proceed out of town.
In the afternoon, cyclists will return to Hillsborough via St. Mary’s Road to Cameron Street and then East Margaret Lane.
