The Town of Hillsborough has been recognized by the organization ELGL as a best place to work.
ELGL, which stands for Engaging Local Government Leaders, named Hillsborough the winner among small cities that have developed and nurtured the best workplaces and continue to encourage employee creativity, loyalty and success.
The winners and finalists will provide occasional blog posts to share best practices. The first blog posts by the Town of Hillsborough and other winners and finalists— including the Town of Cary — are available on the ELGL website on the Meagle Award page. ELGL will be posting additional winners and finalists in the coming weeks.
ELGL calls its workplace award the Meagle Award, named for the character Donna Meagle in the TV comedy series “Parks and Recreation.”
This isn’t the first time the Town of Hillsborough has received ELGL recognition inspired by “Parks and Recreation.” In 2016, Town Manager Eric Peterson was honored by making The Chris Traeger List: Top 100 Local Government Influencers.
ELGL works to connect, communicate and educate about local government topics.
