Sheetz will celebrate its grand opening on 1990 NC 86 South on Thursday with the chance to win prizes such as a 2018 Ford F150 or a $1,000 Sheetz gift card.
Located in the former Paliouras truck stop site across the street from the Hampton Pointe shopping center and the Eagles gas station, this Sheetz location will offer a drive-through, allowing customers to order from the menu and purchase various items from inside the store.
Sheetz, a family-owned and operated business chain from Pennsylvania, claims over 565 convenience stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and North Carolina.
With over 100 locations throughout North Carolina, this is Sheetz’s first Hillsborough venture, and the first location within Orange County. The station took about four months of construction, which began in January. The single acre site is leased by Sheetz to property owner James Paliouras through 2030.
The new location will offer the same award-winning station of touchscreen terminals to order drink or food items all hours of the day.
The grand opening celebration will begin on June 14 at 10 a.m. with giveaways awarded before the grand opening at 11 a.m. A Sheetz family member will be on-site for the opening ceremony, set to begin at 10:45 a.m.
This location will continue to celebrate its opening by offering free self-serve coffee and soda for a limited time and donate a total of $5,000 to various organizations.
Those who plan to attend the grand opening festivities are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item with them to donate to the food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, as part of Sheetz initiative to help with hunger disparities across the region. Alongside the donations, they will donate $2,500 to the organization who works to provide hunger relief to the nearly 1.6 million people in North Carolina struggling to access nutritious and adequate amounts of food, a release stated.
Sheetz will also donate $2,500 to the Special Olympics of North Carolina.
