The Orange County Sheriff's Office issued a press release Thursday afternoon stating that it is investigating a suspicious death at N.C. 157 and Wagner Dairy Road. The release said deputies arrived at the area around 9:30 a.m. in response to a call about a suspicious vehicle. A deceased male was found in the car.
The N.C. Highway Patrol was also at the scene, which was blocked off for several hours, according to a neighbor nearby.
The deceased is a white male in his late 50s, and was found in the backseat. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The car, a gold, older model Toyota Camry, did not appear to be damaged or involved in an accident.
The OCSO release stated very little is known at this time, and that Walter Vila is the lead investigator. Anyone with any information is asked to call him at (919) 245-2907.
