The Hillsborough Public Information staff is hosting a meeting for citizens interested in joining the conversation about how the Town of Hillsborough can help the community during times of emergencies, as well as how citizens can help the town.
The meeting takes place next Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Human Resources Training Room on the Town Hall Campus at 101 E Orange St. Pizza will be free for those who attend.
Although there are already volunteers for some neighborhoods that are provided water and sewage service by the Town of Hillsborough, the town is looking for more input from other neighborhoods. The release sent out by the town Wednesday afternoon announcing the event states that the town is seeking volunteers from the neighborhoods of Corbinton Commons, Corbin Creek Woods, Burke's Meadow, the Orange High School Road area, Willowbend Lane and the Riverside Drive area.
Those who wish to attend the meeting should contact Public Information Specialist Cheryl Sadgrove by phone at 919-296-9433, or by email.
