Cedar Ridge High School has named Intisar Hamidullah interim principal.
Hamidullah, who was previously an assistant principal at Cedar Ridge, replaces Heather Blackmon, who has taken on an instructional leadership position within the Orange County school district, according to a news release from Orange County Schools.
“It’s an honor to be chosen as the interim principal, and our administrative team is ready to bring our passion to this new year,” Hamidullah said in the release. “We are ready to do the hard work that will be necessary in many areas of our school for students and staff.”
Before her time with Orange County Schools, Hamidullah was an assistant principal at West Carteret High School in Morehead City on the coast of North Carolina. Prior to that, she was a teacher in the Charlotte- Mecklenburg and Durham public school systems. She earned her bachelor’s in special education from NC A&T State University and her masters of education from NC Central University.
On Monday, August 6, Hamidullah officially took on the position, just three weeks before the start of the 2018-19 school year on Monday, August 27.
