Hillsborough native named Paraprofessional of the Year for Texas elementary school

The Rev. Frederick Leon Johnson, I, a native of Hillsborough, was honored as the 2018-2019 Paraprofessional of the Year for Akin Elementary School, located in Wylie, Texas. He was recognized Monday, Feb. 11 and will now be a contender in the round for the Wylie Independent School District.

Johnson is a 1986 graduate of Orange High School and a former employee of Orange County Schools. He is the former pastor of First Baptist Church of Louisburg, North Carolina. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. Torain of Hillsborough and the late Bobby J. Johnson.
