Section of downtown Hillsborough briefly closing for traffic Dec. 31

West King Street will be closed briefly to through traffic between Wake Street and the entrance to the town-maintained parking lot behind Churton Street businesses on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The street will be closed 9-11 a.m. so a contractor renovating 126 W. King St. can install rooftop mechanical equipment. The roof could not be accessed from behind due to lack of clearance beneath utility lines. The sidewalk in front of the building, which is on the north side of the street, also will be closed.
