Gracing the stones and the breaking waters

With a passing armful of joy, how

Would she not prevail under the river’s bowery? Here a still

Moment framed with tumults of shattered rains

And froth-stone, feeding the dappled arch of dank

Forest Under the Moon. Will

Becomes only part of the current and now

Inheritor of the lost tribe’s departed daughters

Guards alone, by the harder stones, moss-stained,

River-walking long and lean, fired down and lank

Where only the woman in her knows the deep refrains.
