About Us

Founded in 1893, The News of Orange County is a family-owned community newspaper in Hillsborough, N.C., and is published every Wednesday.

The News of Orange, which has more than 15,000 readers each week, covers Hillsborough and northern Orange County, including the towns of Efland, Cedar Grove, Hurdle Mills and Rougemont, as well as the communities of Orange Grove, White Cross, Walnut Grove and New Hope.

The newspaper includes news and pictures about local government, crime, courts, public records, weddings and engagements, church services, social activities, high school and youth sports, and community events and activities.

Our sponsors each week feature a variety of advertisers, including local supermarkets, retail stores, hospitals and health organizations, and other businesses and professionals.

Our mission is to be a written and visual record of what makes our community special.
